Physiotherapy Services
Our physiotherapy clinic has 4 treatment rooms, a private office and a large gym area.
We offer a range of services including:
- General physiotherapy
The assessment, diagnosis and treatment of general musculoskeletal injuries or pain that arises out of activities of daily living.
- Sports Injuries
The assessment, diagnosis and treatment of injuries/pain arising from sport. Read more about our Sports Injury Clinic.
- Orthopaedic Rehabilitation
Pre and post surgical intervention is offered. Attendance at physiotherapy prior to surgery enables accurate assessment of pre-operative function and implementation of appropriate exercise programs to maximise pre-operative function. This in turn maximise chances of optimal benefit from surgery and can improve post operative recovery and rehabilitation.
- Work Conditioning
Specific exercise programs are developed (determined by the nature of work the injured client does) and are carried out in the Pilates studio under supervision. The programs are designed to be work specific and address strengthening the body to enable it to cope with the particular physical stresses of each individual’s work. These programs are most beneficial in facilitating successful return to work and reducing the likelihood of re-injury once the injured worker has returned to normal work duties.
- Workers Compensation
The assessment, diagnosis and treatment of injuries that occur while a person is at work. These injuries vary depending on the nature of work. Insurance companies are billed directly.
- Veteran Affairs
The assessment, diagnosis and treatment of injuries or pain that occurs in our population that have health coverage with the department of veteran affairs. This includes gold card holders and some white card holders that are entitled to physiotherapy treatment.
- Motor Vehicle Injuries
The assessment, diagnosis and treatment of the specific injuries that can arise from motor vehicle accidents. These can include whiplash injuries to the neck, low back pain, chest/rib pain and various other musculoskeletal injuries.
- Enhanced Primary Care (EPC)
This is a Medicare initiative that enables access to private physiotherapy treatment for specific clients that are suffering from a chronic or complex health condition. The treatment services do have a rebate from medicare with minimal gap payment payable to the clinic.
- Musculoskeletal Assessments
Our clinicians are able to provide clients with a comprehensive musculoskeletal assessment and report that incorporates assessment of posture, range of motion of each joint, assessment of muscle strength, muscle balance and biomechanics including gait (walking) analysis.
The information obtained from this is used to recommend appropriate courses of action to correct any musculoskeletal issues found – this may include specific physiotherapy treatment, home exercise program or gym program. The same assessment is performed to develop specific gym based Pilates programs for clients in the clinic. It is a useful tool for reducing the risk of injury or development of pain resulting from poor movement patterns and posture. It is also useful for sports people who may be looking for an edge on their competitors through a hidden advantage of greater core stability, muscle balance and improved biomechanics.
- Paediatrics
We are experienced in assessing and treating various motion and posture related conditions that affect children.
- Orthotics
We use specialised equipment for the assessment and treatment of foot and lower limb biomechanical (movement) disorders. Read more about orthotics at Park Beach Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic.
